Overview

Each block is linked to a Location. If you use the same Location for more than one block, PlotDirector treats those blocks as part of the same room.

Linked Location inspector

Select a block on the canvas to see Linked Location in the right inspector. The list changes the block's shared Location identity; Open Location opens that Location's full details. Maps, scenes and floor plans all use the same Location record.

To create a room for an existing block, enter a room name and choose Create / link Location. PlotDirector reuses an active Location with that name under the same floor when one already exists. This changes the link without creating a second block.

Every floor-plan block requires a Location, so it cannot be unlinked. Choose a different Location when the current link is wrong. Several blocks can share a Location to represent parts of one room.

Choose Plan / background, or click empty grid space, to return to the floor's background inspector. Build tools on the left remain available while inspecting a block.
