Overview

Character appearances remain available through character filters, focus, scene search, scene cards and the Scene Inspector. The general Timeline no longer renders a separate lane for every character; this keeps the planning view centred on scenes, chronology, assets, metrics and warnings.

Use a character filter or character focus to narrow the Timeline. Open a scene's inspector to review role, presence, location, entry and exit, appearance, outfit, physical and emotional state, and knowledge notes.

Presence can mean more than standing in the room. A character may be a point-of-view character, a main participant, a mentioned person or someone whose absence matters.

How Authors Use This

Focus on one character to review their arc.

Check whether a point-of-view character has enough page presence.

Find long absences that may need a reminder, explanation or deliberate silence.

Compare character activity against relationship, knowledge and attribute changes in the Scene Inspector.
